Investigation of Metabolic Pathways as Therapeutic Targets for Chronic Inflammation in Diabetes

By admin, 14 March, 2025

We have the following projects available:

  1. Studying the molecular interactions between human macrophages and pancreatic islets
  2. Identifying the translational potential of targeting metabolic pathways for stem cell islet transplantation to treat Type 1 diabetes
  3. Unbiased discovery platforms to identify novel antagonists/agonists of a metabolic enzyme

Our lab uses biochemical, and mass-spectrometry based approaches to investigate mechanisms of inflammation in diabetes and health. We provide training on all techniques to be applied in a team-based laboratory environment. The trainee will learn wet bench techniques, research and experimental design, data analysis and interpretation, literature review and practice scientific writing skills for example in manuscript preparation.
