Description
First, we aim to further define and evaluate the role of student volunteers within Worcester RISE for Health. Through direct participation in clinic activities, including patient support and Civil Surgeon events, we will work closely with clinic leadership to identify areas where student volunteers can provide meaningful and sustainable contributions. We hope to better characterize volunteer responsibilities, identify opportunities to improve volunteer integration into clinic workflows, and develop recommendations that enhance both the patient experience and the educational experience of student volunteers. Second, we plan to conduct an organizational assessment and continuous quality improvement initiative. This will involve collaborating with clinic leadership to better understand the organization's mission, theory of change, and operational objectives. We will explore opportunities to establish measurable outcomes related to patient engagement, resource navigation, volunteer contributions, and healthcare access. Through quantitative and qualitative data collection, including workflow observations and stakeholder interviews, we hope to identify strengths, challenges, and opportunities for future growth. The resulting report may serve as both an internal planning document and a potential model for other organizations serving refugee and immigrant communities.
