As the project develops, students can also explore ways to support advocacy effors already being led by Indigenous communities and organizations, including potential educational, institutional, or policy - related projects. Students will learn about topics such as the history of boarding schools and medical mistrust, barriers to healthcare access, and current health priorities of indigenous communities.
